In keeping with a utilization-focused approach, we tailor the content and format of evaluation products specifically to the client and purpose for which they are intended. As a result, all products and processes are customized to highest-priority needs and can be delivered in a variety of formats including formal reports, executive summaries, informal/interim reports for internal use only, web sites, in-person presentations, strategic plan documents, data dashboards, stakeholder consultations, meeting facilitation, collateral and publications, or video productions.

Executive Summaries: Many clients prefer shorter, summary-style reports for sharing with key stakeholders and the public.

Formal Public Reports: Comprehensive final reports tend to be needed for larger, multi-year, or multi-site projects.

Peer-reviewed Articles: We occasionally write up evaluation results for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Literature Reviews: Insights from existing research can often complement or sometimes be more useful than generating new local data.

Presentations and Workshops with key stakeholders can deepen understanding so that results are more useful.

Logic Models are a frequent starting point and ongoing reference for our evaluation and planning work.

Outline of Preliminary Findings (or Summary Outline of Evaluation Findings): Most of our report products are preceded by an outline document designed to promote collaborative meaning making. Often the outline is sufficient as a final deliverable.

Narrative Data Summary Reports: Sometimes the most efficient format for a deliverable can be a simple presentation of all evaluation activities, data, and findings.
Other: Journalistic, Web 2.0... approaches can make products more accessible and useful.

Toolkits help to systematize future evaluation and build internal capacity.

As a side note, we often find that the most enduring and meaningful value for our clients comes not from the tangible deliverable products, but rather from the ongoing conversations, check-ins, meetings, and product editing collaborations that happen as part of the process. It is in those in-between spaces where perspectives often change in lasting and powerful ways and in which useful insights tend to be born. Here is one example of an informal report sent in the format of an email update.

"I'd just like to say that I really, truly appreciate how thorough, thoughtful, well organized, and accessible this [report] is. With the amount of information here, I think it would be VERY possible to put together a real snoozer of a document. This is anything but that!"
